3D Seismic Data Acquisition in OML 66, Nigeria
GSL was awarded contract for 3D Seismic Data Acquisition in OML 66 by the joint operations of SINOPEC and Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC. Work area is mainly swamp with a major chunk of the acquisition area being the Brass River. GSL will use conventional seismic explosives and airgun array for the project.
Geomarine Systems has mobilized and commenced line survey operations. Extensive, innovative and all - inclusive community affairs management efforts have meant zero downtime while the line survey operations have lasted.
3D (O.B.C) Seismic Data Acquisition in OPL 233, Offshore Nigeria
GSL has also been awarded contract for the acquisition of 3D seismic data, using Ocean Bottom Cable (O.B.C) technology in OPL 233 by NigDel Oil Company Limited. GSL's airgun boat RV Ibimina has been delivered in Nigeria and has completed a series of qualification tests by engineers from, Houston, Texas, who also trained GSL local personnel. GSL signed a protocol of technical assistance which includes technical training of local personnel, project start - up support, additional equipment and specialist personnel support.
Water depths are in the 0 - 20m range. Positioning will be by both GPS and acoustic transponder systems. Triggerfish is the Integrated Navigation System of choice.
This project is expected to be completed by May, 2014.
GSL's set of equipment and facilities gives our company the versatility to operate in land, swamp and Transition Zone (TZ) environments.
OML 123 Multi - site Seabed Geo-hazard and Bathymetry Survey for Addax Petroleum Development Co.
GSL conducts these surveys for Addax to aid in the passage and emplacement of their rigs and other facilities.
